National Cherry Festival

Michigan produces about 75-percent of America’s tart cherry crop. That’s why the region, particularly Traverse City, is known as the Cherry Capital of The World. For well over a half century, the National Cherry Festival has drawn millions of visitors every July for this—the ultimate festival of cherries. Over 150 events, including free air shows over Grand Traverse Bay, parades and marching bands, music shows, sporting events, rides and carnival games, pie-eating contests, clean blue skies, warm sunshine, crowds of smiling faces, and loads of cherries prepared every way you can imagine.
